Melissa was initially drawn to landscape design through a passion for the outdoors. She sees residential design as an opportunity to connect with the natural environment and enjoys finding creative solutions that integrate color, form and texture.

Engaging with design as a varied and changing process, Melissa finds the intersection of design, water use, fire awareness, and opportunities to support ecology – both fascinating and necessary. Homeowners’ needs evolve too, and she likes to anticipate and plan for them in her work.

Her love for design also flows naturally into activities she enjoys her free time: art history, hiking, and knitting hats for our chillier micro climates.
